In our society, we face various aspects and levels of social interaction. For the purposes of this paper, the focus will be on specifically, Gender and Language, Nonverbal communication, Status, and Humor. Social interaction is the way people talk and act with each other and various structures in society. It may include the interactions such as family or bureaucracies that are formed out of the need to create order within the interaction itself (Wikipedia, 2017). This paper will illustrate the importance of the mentioned factors as it relates to the function and interaction in our society. Presently, males still consider the woman place is the home and should not take part in activities considered to be for the male gender. For example, this can be the view in terms of leadership positions and in politics. Despite this ideology, present day society is observing a shift as more women are becoming active in the roles stated. If this trend continues, society perception towards women will eventually observe a drastic shift which is absolutely needed. â€Å"Nonverbal communication (NVC) is defined as the conveyance of emotions, feelings, and messages through actions and expressions rather than words† (Hans Hans, 2015). NVC is a relatively new field of interest, especially for social psychologists and even intelligence specialists. The depth and breadth of this field arises from the simple fact that as humans, we don’t always communicate through words. Analyzing non-verbal communication, it is evident that we are able to communicate through various ways. These ways include but are not limited to: kinesics, head movement/posture and haptics. The word kinesics comes from the root word kinesis, which means â€Å"movement,† and refers to the study of hand, arm, body, and face movement (Hans Hans, 2015).
